New Delhi: Since the monsoon rains, devastating rains have been wreaking havoc in several parts of India. When the rains hit several areas, it is common for general utility failures and disruptions to occur. Trains are just one typical example of utility disruptions, especially when water seeps through the roof during prolonged rain.

Viral video

One such scene was seen on the Vande Bharat train on the Delhi-Varanasi route. A woman named Priya Singh posted a video of the leaking roof of a Vande Bharat train on X. Posting the video, she wrote, “Mother daughter, I am pregnant and just had a baby. The video shows water dripping from the roof of the train onto the seats and floor of the train.

Several social media users reacted to the video shared by the woman. One social media user commented that the water dripping from the roof of the train poses a major risk of electrical accidents inside the train. Another user said that old trains like Shatabdi and Rajdhani are better than the newer Vande Bharat in the Indian railway network.

Northern Railway responds

Even the Northern Railway responded to Priya's X-post. “Due to a temporary blockage in the pipes, a slight water leak was observed in the coach! The train staff attended to the issue and rectified it. We regret the inconvenience caused,” the Northern Railway wrote.

This is not the first time that Vande Bharat has been in the news for not so positive reasons. Recently, the train made headlines after passengers without tickets crowded the train, leaving little to no space for passengers with tickets. A video went viral following the incident.
