UNC baseball team secures commitment from young player from the state

Scott Forbes and the North Carolina Tar Heels baseball program had a successful 2024 season, reaching Omaha and the College World Series.

The Tar Heels had a thrilling postseason run, going 6-3 with a regional win and a super regional win. They even defeated the defending national champions, the LSU Tigers. Although their run in Omaha wasn't enough, Forbes and the team felt like they were back there and now it's time to build on that.

With many players leaving after this season, Forbes and his team are faced with the challenge of replacing them. And this week they received a big commitment to their recruiting class.

On Monday, pitcher Camron Seagraves pledged to support North Carolina. Due to a coaching change, Seagraves transferred from Campbell to North Carolina.

One of the most promising pitchers in the country and one of the best players in the state of North Carolina, Seagraves was named the 2024 North Carolina Baseball Player of the Year by Gatorade.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound Seagraves is coming off a good season, going 8-2 with a no-hitter. He also struck out 127 batters and allowed a 1.71 ERA.
