Flyers Corey Toole and Mark Nawaqantiwase were added following their outstanding seasons in Super Rugby.

Toole returns to the program after making a name for himself in the title-winning 2021-22 World Series season, while Nawaqantiwase made an appearance at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Captain Nick Malouf and vice-captain Henry Hutchison become three-time Olympians.

“The team has made a tremendous effort over the last three years to put us in a really good position to compete in Paris,” said Malouf.

“John and the coaching team have put together a really exciting group of top-class men who are sure to make Australians proud.

“Within the group, we have a nice mix of first, second and third time Olympians and they are all looking forward to competing hard at the Games. I am so happy to be leading this team and I can't wait to get going in Paris.”

Meanwhile, the trio of Nathan Lawson, Dietrich Roache and James Turner return for their second Olympic Games after playing in the team that finished seventh in Tokyo.

Josh Turner and Michael Icely are the traveling substitutes who can be called up in the event of injury or other withdrawal of one of the selected athletes.

“We are delighted to announce the Paris 2024 Olympic team – a team we are confident will represent Australia with pride and achievement,” said Manenti.

“The group has more than 330 World Series tournament experiences, including five former Olympians and seven debutants.

“We welcome Corey Toole and Mark Nawaqanitawase back to the team. Both have made a smooth transition and add an X-factor to our proven combinations.

“We recently had two really good weeks in Fiji and Darwin and that, combined with our solid season, has prepared the team really well for Paris.”

Wallabies legend Michael Hooper announced his retirement on Sunday after not being selected for the Olympic team.

The men will face Argentina, Samoa and Kenya in their group. Play begins on July 24.
