“Cowboy Christmas” underway in Nebraska

The first week of July is affectionately known by cowboys and cowgirls as “Cowboy Christmas.” This time of year is very special for rodeo competitors because there are many rodeos to participate in and lots of money to be won.

It's also a special time of year for spectators, as there are even more rodeos!

Below is a list of rodeos taking place in Nebraska over the next week. Be sure to find a rodeo near you to support your local community and the competitors who will put on great shows!

Old West Trail PRCA Rodeo – Crawford, Nebraska 3 to 4 July
Sutherland 4th of July Rodeo – Sutherland, NE 3 to 4 July
Pony Express Rodeo – Gothenburg, NE 3 to 4 July
Camp Clarke Stampede – Bridgeport, Nebraska 4 to 5 July
35th Annual Stuart Rodeo – Stuart, NE 5 to 6 July
Madison County Rodeo – Madison, NE 10 to 12 July

There are many major professional rodeos taking place outside of the state on the Fourth of July. Here is a short list of the places where some of the PRCA's biggest names will be performing this week:

Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series – Steamboat Springs, CO 3 to 4 July
89th Annual Independence Day Rodeo – Oakley City, Utah 3 to 6 July
Oldest Rodeo in the World – Prescott, AZ 3 to 4 July
Basin City Freedom Rodeo – Basin City, WA 3 to 5 July
Eugene Pro Rodeo – Eugene, OR 3 to 6 July
Calgary Stampede – Calgary, AB 5 to 14 July
NFR Open – Colorado Springs, CO 9 to 15 July
Central Wyoming Fair and PRCA Rodeo – Casper, Wyoming 9 to 13 July
