Giants beat Rangers 5-2

ARLINGTON, Texas — Michael Conforto hit a game-winning two-run homer in the seventh inning, Wilmer Flores hit two home runs for his first multiple-home-run game of the season, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Texas Rangers 5-2 on Friday night.

Logan Webb (5-5) won for the first time in four starts after allowing two runs and five hits with six strikeouts and no walks in seven innings while throwing 94 pitches.

With the score tied at 2-2, Conforto hit a 3-2 cutter by David Robertson (2-3) over Texas' bullpen in right center field with one out.

Heliot Ramos hit an RBI single for San Francisco in the eighth inning. In the last two games, he has been on base nine times with a home run, four singles and four walks.

Camilo Doval threw a perfect ninth inning, earning his 10th save in 12 opportunities for the Giants, who have now won two games in a row after their worst losing streak of the season, six games in a row.

The Rangers have lost three of their last four games.

The game pitted Rangers manager Bruce Bochy, who won the club's first World Series title last season, against the franchise he led to three championships.

Flores has hit three home runs in two games, including a grand slam in Arizona on Wednesday. His four home runs this season included three. It was the sixth game of his career in which he hit multiple home runs.

Flores had a chance to extend his lead to 2-0 in the fifth inning when he was at bat with the bases loaded and two outs. But Texas' Jonathan Hernández, who had relieved starter Michael Lorenzen one batter earlier and struck out Jorge Soler, got Flores to chase an 0-2 slider deep and outside for strike three and end the threat.

The Rangers then tied the score at 2-2 in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by Robbie Grossman, scoring Nathaniel Lowe and Ezequiel Duran's single up the middle against a drawn-in infield to bring home Wyatt Langford.

Lorenzen allowed two runs on Flores' home runs in 4 1/3 innings, giving him a 1.50 ERA in his last five starts.
