Boston Celtics make incredible history in the first game of the NBA Finals

On Thursday night, the Boston Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks (at home) in Game 1 of the NBA Finals by a score of 107-89.

The Celtics played a fantastic game and six of their players scored in double figures.

In addition, the team has made incredible NBA history.

About the NBA: “HISTORY β˜˜οΈπŸ†

In Game 1, the Celtics became the first team in NBA Finals history to have seven players make multiple 3-pointers in a game 🎯”

The team made 47.6% of their field shots and 38.1% of their three-point shots.

After the game, Mavs star Luka Doncic talked about Boston’s elite shooting performance.

Doncic: “I think they're the best three-point team in the NBA, so sometimes it's really hard to take those three-point shots away from them. Especially when they have five guys on the court who can all shoot.”

Jaylen Brown was Boston's best player with 22 points, six rebounds, two assists, three steals and three blocks, while shooting 7/12 from the field and 2/6 from three-point range in 37 minutes of play.

The Celtics are the number one seed in the Eastern Conference and defeated the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers in the first three rounds of the playoffs.

Although they have been to the NBA Finals twice in the last three seasons, the franchise has not won an NBA championship since 2008.

Game 2 of the series will take place on Sunday evening (also in Boston).

The teams then travel to Dallas for games 3 and 4.
