The Emporia High football team was present at the Emporia State Team Camp at Welch Stadium on Thursday and Friday.

Emporia High was able to participate in four practices during the two-day event against teams from Kansas and Oklahoma. Emporia High coach Kaden Glinsmann said the most important thing to come out of the event was competing against the other teams that participated in the camp.

Glinsmann, now in his second year as the Spartans' head coach, said everything is clear as far as the summer goes for the program.

Glinsmann said there is still a lot of work to do before the Spartans have their first official practice on Aug. 19.

Emporia High will open the season on September 6 in Pittsburg.
