Celebrini explains how a return to college could benefit him

Celebrini explains how a return to college could benefit him. Originally published on NBC Sports Bay Area

BUFFALO, NY – Macklin Celebrini is the star of the 2024 NHL Draft Combine.

As a clear candidate for the first overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, Celebrini had the podium to himself during Friday's media presence. In contrast, other top prospects Artyom Levshunov and Zeev Buium shared the podium, as did Cayden Lindstrom and Zayne Parekh.

However, the Sharks’ future first-round pick remained modest.

“There's been a lot of talk about this and it's definitely a possibility,” Celebrini said of San Jose's selection. “But at the end of the day, you never know what's going to happen.”

But we do, but you have to give Celebrini credit for managing to keep a straight face. He's clearly media savvy!

Celebrini discussed the advice he received from 2023 No. 1 overall pick Connor Bedard and his older brother and Boston University teammate Aiden Celebrini, why a return to college could further develop his game, the challenges of playing against his future Sharks teammate Will Smith, the best advice he ever received and more.
