Slitterhead gets November release date and action-packed trailer

The first horror game from Silent Hill creator Keiichirō Toyoma and Bokeh Game Studio, Slitterhead, will be released on November 8 for PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The studio announced the release date at this year's Summer Game Fest in an action-packed trailer that focused on the game's combat. The trailer shows an interesting mix of concepts. It's set in Japan with supernatural creatures, reminiscent of Ghostwire: Tokyo. However, Slitterhead isn't in first person, but in third person. You can also seemingly possess NPCs to fight supernatural creatures, similar to the Dishonored games.

It appears to play like a third-person action-adventure game where you can switch between different characters on the fly during combat, similar to the Final Fantasy VII Remake games. You also have various physical and magical tools at your disposal, including claws, rifles, and even Gatling guns.

First announced in 2021, Slitterhead reunites Toyoma with Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, whose most memorable work may be the music for Silent Hill 2. That game is currently being remastered by developer Bloober Team and will be released on October 8 for PS5 and PC.
