Chippy Champions Cup against Nashville, Messi takes a break, Rojas update

Orlando City is Inter Miami's geographical rival, but their fiercer rival on the pitch is Nashville SC.

Miami and Nashville have tied at the end of regulation time three times in a row, and the rivalry seems to be getting stronger with each game. It should reach its peak on Wednesday night in the second and decisive Round of 16 match of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Already in the first leg, which ended 2-2, there were signs that there might be an upturn in mood.

“We've played them enough times now that we're not scared anymore,” Nashville defender Lukas Macnaughton said of the match against Messi and Inter Miami. Macnaughton's controversial tackle on Messi in the first round of the Champions Cup round of 16 brought the Argentine to the ground and sparked a heated debate on social media. Earlier in the match, Messi and Luis Suarez clashed with Nashville's Anibal Godoy, with the normally reserved Messi waving his index finger in Godoy's face.

Inside Inter Miami hosts Michelle Kaufman and Andre Fernandez analyze the drama surrounding the Champions Cup, Messi's day off against Montreal, problems in defense, the latest on negotiations with Matias Rojas and much more.
