Download Festival 2024 Food and Drink – Eating competitions, new bars and “premium” alcohol

Download Festival organisers have upped the ante on the food and drink side of things this year. New for the 2024 festival is The Welders Yard – a “brand new” food and drink area at the top of the main arena – and two new bars, biker bar Gooseneck Inn and Ace of Spades (Lemmy would be proud).

The Gooseneck Inn will offer a range of “high-quality” whiskeys, rums, liqueurs and other spirits. Organizers say festival-goers will be able to take part in competitive eating and watch the European Championships at the Ace of Spades Bar, located near the new Outpost Stage in District X.

The rock festival, which takes place at Castle Donington from Friday 14 June to Sunday 16 June, will have more than 140 food vendors this year. According to Download, more than 30 different vendors will offer gluten-free options, more than 80 vegetarian options and over 40 vendors will offer vegan food.

The usual festival favourites are expected to return, including Bunnyman's Bunnychow, which offers steak or vegan chilli in a bread bowl, King of the Yorkie, Big Mouth Gyoza and No Fricken Chicken.
