“X-Men '97” vinyl is on the way (exclusive)

For me, my vinyl collectors! The music of X-Men '97 will be released on physical media, with the Newton Brothers' soundtrack being part of a double-disc set.

The Hollywood Reporter offers a first look and details on the package, which features artwork by Phantom City Creative and includes two 140-gram colored vinyl discs in a gatefold sleeve.

X-Men '97 was a continuation of the classic X-Men animated series that ran from 1992 to 1997. It was a critical success for Marvel Studios and was the first project to achieve 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. The film's music was composed by the Newton Brothers, known for their collaboration with Doctor Sleep Filmmaker Mike Flanagan was inspired by the show and also went his own way.

Pop culture art, music and collectibles store Mutant is behind the vinyl release, which is available for pre-order now.

“Meeting expectations is hard. Exceeding them is even harder.” X-Men '97 makes it seem effortless in almost every way, including the music. Featuring an excellent and faithful update of Ron Wasserman's original classic X-Men: The Animated Series “The Newton Brothers' work on this series is brilliant,” says Mutant co-founder Eric Garza. “Across 40 tracks and over 80 minutes, the Newton Brothers create a soundscape that includes massive, sweeping orchestral and synthesizer elements that could well exist in the future. It's a bold and epic work worthy of Marvel's merry mutants.”
