Philly Select Collegiate League Opening Day ~ Philadelphia Baseball Review

The Philly Select Collegiate League kicks off its inaugural season tonight with two exciting matchups: Rake vs. Bucks County Ghost and Philly Mummers vs. Philly Fightin' Quakers.

Founded in 2023, the Philly Select Collegiate League aims to provide a competitive platform for rising high school graduates and current college players.

With five teams, the league promises to be a magnet for local baseball fans and a breeding ground for young talent.

Over 100 players from more than three dozen local colleges and high schools make up the rosters of the five teams: Bucks County Ghost, Philly Mummers, Philly Fightin' Quakers, Philly Bandits and Rake Baseball.

This diverse talent pool underscores the league's commitment to promoting player development and showcasing the region's baseball potential.

Tonight's games mark the beginning of what is expected to be an exciting season that will last through mid-July. The matchups will set the stage for a summer of high-caliber baseball and provide players with an excellent opportunity to develop their skills and gain exposure.

“Our goal is to provide quality baseball throughout the region with a focus on the development and growth of the players and the game,” said Andrew Lihotz, regional manager at EL1 Sports and coordinator of the Philly Select Baseball League.
