Kentucky baseball channel, time, TV streaming for NCAA regional game

LEXINGTON — Kentucky's baseball team made history again Saturday, winning its first two games in an NCAA regional tournament for the first time since the event's current format was introduced in 1999, the first year of super regionals, thanks to a 6-1 victory over Illinois and Friday's 10-8 win over Western Michigan.

After losing the second regional game in each of his first two NCAA appearances as Kentucky coach (2017 and 2023), immediately following victories in the opening games of those years, Nick Mingione was unsure what to do with himself after Saturday's victory.

“Just another thing we've never done before. Obviously there's still a lot of baseball left,” he said. “But yeah, it's a big burden for me. It's over.”

With no game until Sunday night, Mingione said he will use the time earlier in the day to study. First, the Bible. Then Illinois and Indiana State, his two possible opponents on Sunday. He will rewatch footage from Saturday's win over the Fighting Illini. And analyze more video of the Sycamores.

And the players?

Mingione said the Wildcats will not be getting a “wake-up call” on Sunday, and before they arrive at the stadium, their main task will be to stay hydrated.

“They usually show up at the stadium around 1 p.m. and just hang out. … I went in there (on Saturday), there were four different baseball games on the big screens in the locker room. They just watch baseball,” Mingione said. “They're like baseball rats.”
