Enzo Maresca will debut in a Hollywood blockbuster in his first game as new Chelsea head coach

It won't be long now before Chelsea's first-team stars get to work with new head coach Enzo Maresca at the club's training centre in Cobham. It is now early June and it will be early July when the Blues squad returns to start pre-season training for the 2024/25 season.

All eyes will be on what unfolds at Stamford Bridge over the course of the year after Maresca replaced Mauricio Pochettino in the hot seat. After a season of ups and downs, the Argentine seemed to have turned things around in the final months of the 2023/24 season, ultimately managing to lead the west London club to sixth place and into European football.

At Chelsea, everyone will be hoping the team can build on their strong end to the season, and Maresca is now the man to lead the Blues back to the top of the Premier League and challenge for the biggest honours. The 44-year-old has been a hit in his year as Leicester City manager and it will be hoped he can make an immediate impact in his new job.

Ahead of the start of the upcoming Premier League season, Maresca and his team have a packed pre-season schedule as they fly across the Atlantic to the United States. Chelsea's first game of the summer tour is against League One side Wrexham, owned by Hollywood film stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The game takes place on Wednesday 24 July at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Three days later, the Blues are in action when they face Scottish Premiership champions Celtic. This time, Maresca's team will be playing in Indiana at Notre Dame Stadium.

Chelsea then travel to Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday, July 31 for a friendly against Club America. They will then face some familiar faces in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, August 3 as they face Premier League champions Man City at Ohio Stadium.
