QU's 19-4 start through its first 23 games was the program's best start to a year since the 1965-66 season. Morris pioneered a Quinnipiac offense that set a new record for total points (2,630).

The Bobcats went 15-5 in conference play during the regular season under Morris's guidance. Quinnipiac won 10 straight games from January 5 to February 8. The Bobcats finished January 7-0, recording the first perfect month in the university's Division I history.
