Summer Game Fest 2024 is upon us. It is set to take place this week and the annual event has quickly replaced the departed E3 by stepping over its dead body. Every year, Geoff Keighley takes to the stage to reveal and showcase a vast wealth of great games. Before this year's event begins, here's Summer Game Fest 2024: exciting leaks, rumors and confirmed studios.

To round off May 2024, we recently enjoyed a PlayStation State of Play. The event announced the release date for the Silent Hill 2 remake and confirmed rumors that God of War Ragnoark is coming to PC. We also got a look at Sony's new multiplayer game Concord, which is coming to PS5 and PC, as well as a new PSVR2 horror experience set in the universe of Ridley Scott's Alien.

State of Play was a fun 30-minute event, but Summer Game Fest 2024 is going to be even bigger. There will be many more surprises and reveals, and there are a ton of exciting rumors and leaks in the lead up to the fest this weekend.

Summer Game Fest 2024 leaked

Although we just had a State of Play event, reports suggest that Sony will still have a strong presence at Summer Game Fest 2024. One of the leaked games that did not appear at State of Play is LEGO Horizon Adventures.

According to reliable leaker Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, a reveal trailer for LEGO Horizon Adventures is apparently finished and ready to be showcased. It's a LEGO game set entirely in the Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West universe and starring Aloy. It might be seen at Summer Game Fest, as it wasn't present at State of Play.

Black Myth Wukong is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and its release has been basically confirmed thanks to a short gameplay snippet in the Summer Game Fest 2024 trailer. While its release is basically guaranteed, a leak from Lunatic Ignus says there will be a new trailer with pricing when pre-orders begin.

Lunatic Ignus also reports that looter shooter The First Descendant will be at the event, and reveals a release date. While it wasn't specifically mentioned for SGF, reliable leaker Billbil_kun reports via dealabs that the Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater remake will soon resurface with pre-orders and a 2025 release.

Aside from the Geoff Keighley-hosted show, there will be an Xbox presentation over the weekend. It will take place on June 9, and The Verge reports that a new Gears of War will be announced there. In addition, The Verge says there will be release date announcements for Avowed, Indiana Jones, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Rumors

Leaks aside, there are rumors about what could potentially be included. Starting with 2K, it was confirmed by summergamefest on Twitter that 2K plans to “reveal the next iteration in one of 2K's biggest and most popular franchises.” Nothing has leaked, but it could potentially be Borderlands 4, which has been confirmed to be in active development, or hopefully it could be the much-rumored Bioshock 4 instead.

Staying with 2K, 2K is reportedly looking to continue EA's FIFA legacy. There will apparently be a full license with 35 leagues and 800 teams, and there may be an announcement at SGF.

EA has confirmed for the event, so of course fans are hoping we'll finally see Dragon Age 4. Dragon Age 4, titled Dreadwolf, has been awaited for far too long. We're hoping it will appear at the SGF, especially after listings recently surfaced on the PSN and Microsoft Store. Maybe that's too optimistic, but maybe we'll get a trailer with a release date and pre-orders.

While it hasn't been leaked specifically for SGF, it's possible we'll see Valve's new multiplayer shooter Deadlock. Images of Deadlock have leaked online, showing a new Overwatch hero-style shooter. It reportedly underwent a major playtest, so perhaps it will make an appearance at Geoff Keighley's event, especially after it's been trademarked.

Kingdom Hearts fans are speculating that Kingdom Hearts 4 will be included. Unfortunately, Geoff Keighley has told fans that they will be disappointed, so don't expect to see Sora's next adventure at the showcase, especially since Square Enix isn't listed as a partner.
