7 Salary-Dumping Trade Ideas for Zach LaVine the Bulls Should Explore

NBA Transfer Rumors: With his partner's trade value declining, we examine seven Zach LaVine transfer ideas that will see his salary drop and that could be open to the Chicago Bulls.

With the NBA offseason about to begin, it has become pretty clear that signing Zach LaVine is still a priority for the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls seem to want to move in a different direction, and signing LaVine is high on their offseason to-do list. The big question is whether they can find the right transfer partner this time around.

After trading him just before the NBA trade deadline last season, the Bulls have struggled to find a transfer market. In an effort to finally get a deal done this time, the price for LaVine appears to have dropped “significantly.” There's a chance a LaVine trade could be more of a salary dumping deal than a no deal.

If the Bulls are willing to go that route, we examine seven potential LaVine trades with salary cuts that Chicago should consider this summer.

In this particular salary dumping framework, the Bulls would get Jalen Green (a questionable but talented prospect) and Fred VanVleet in exchange for LaVine, Alex Caruso and a future first-round pick. Chicago would have to increase its offer to bet on Green's future.

At this point, this is the type of deal that will likely be a win-win for both sides. Depending on how the Rockets currently feel about Green's long-term potential, this move could make a lot of sense for both sides.
